Features of Electroformed Sieve Mesh

Analysis shows that filter media made by electroforming deliver a markedly narrower particle size distribution. Compared with woven wire mesh filters, they require less frequent cleaning and maintenance, allow extended filtration cycles and service life, and greatly boost production efficiency.
The rigid structure of electroformed sieves ensures apertures never deform. Aperture sizes can be controlled within extremely tight tolerances, with minimal dimensional variation across all holes on the entire surface. Unlike woven wire sieves, electroformed mesh features a flat, smooth surface.
In addition, woven sieves are only available with fixed standard aperture sizes. Electroforming technology, however, can produce square, round or custom geometric apertures in 1-micron increments across the full range of 3 μm to 2000 μm.
The weaving process used for woven test sieves creates inherent fluctuations in nominal aperture dimensions within a single mesh cloth. For instance, a woven test sieve labeled 63 μm typically has actual apertures ranging from 56 μm to 69 μm while still meeting industry specifications.
By contrast, an electroformed sieve also marked 63 μm maintains apertures between 61 μm and 65 μm; ultra-precision electroformed sieves achieve an even tighter range of 62 μm to 64 μm.
